- Introduction to Celtic shamanism: In this introductory session I will discuss what Shamanism is, what Celtic Shamanism is and introduce the first steps in traditional Seership training; the strengthening and shielding of the energy body.
- The Imramma (shamanic journey):
This session will teach the techniques of the Imramma (Shamanic Journey) but from the point of view of Celtic Shamanism. If you have already taken classes with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies on this topic, the information will deepen your understanding of the process.
3. The Celtic Otherworld:
The cosmology of the Celtic view involves three realms and the betwixt and between. An understanding of this cosmology mirrors the 'shaman's tree' but goes into detail using Celtic myth and story. We will be focusing on the sacred story: The Voyage of Mael Duin's Boat.
4.Honouring the Ancestors:
A basic practice in all Celtic Shamanic work is honouring the ancestors. Why is this part of the practice and what happens to us when we do it? How do the Celtic Shamans honour the ancestors?
5.The Ever Living Ones:
The Celtic Otherworld consists of Abred (physical world), Annwn (Land of the Dead) and Gwynvd (Land of the Ever Living Ones). In this class we will explore connections with these divine beings.
6. Celtic Shamanic Healer
We will start to explore traditional healing methods from the Celtic tradition. These will include 'sin eating', 'spelling the fingers', and 'the tongue that cannot lie' (translations from Gaelic) and more.
Other topics in the course: Developing Second Sight, Brighid's Sacred Path, and meeting the 'Good People' (Faery beings) and more!
A certificate of completion will be issued for each person that successfully completes the program. This course was created by Meri Fowler; references and reading material from other authors and sacred texts will be cited throughout.
